If your tire is a stock 140/80/15, fully inflated the sidewalls are 80% as tall as the tire is wide.If you have a 140/90/15 (like I do) the sidewall is 90% as tall as it is wide. You would get width out of a 150 or larger.
I think one of my follow-ups from last week or at least in the past month covers it. You'll have to look for a post dealing with tires.
The improvement Intrudn noticed is due to the compound of the tire carcass and tread, not it's height or width.
And, your speedometer will be slightly out of synch with the tire you mentioned buying. Trust me, that is what is on my 98 Savage right now. And for a cheap tire, it isn't too bad.
